The New Jersey Nets with the second pick in the draft took J.R. Giddens. The CBL scouts called him the player with the most potential. With the 3rd overall pick the Wizards selected Brandon Rush. Scouts call him the most CBL ready rookie. 2007 CBL Champions The New Orleans Hornets defeated the Dallas Mavericks in 7 games Thursday night to win their first CBL Championship. Vince Carter took the Finals MVP award, and for the second straight year, took his team to the finals and won. |

Shortly after celebrating his second Championship, he was told he was traded to the Orlando Magic, another business move from a CBL team looking forward, and not in the past. The scoring of the Hornets proved to much for the Mavericks, which had one of the top players in the league in Carmelo Anthony. They are a very young team and are returning their main core of players, so we will see if they can repeat in making it to the finals again next year.
